Question #19845

1 Answer

For this question
U should know basic three kinematics equations
Necessary here though
a.v=u+at
b.S=u(t)+1/2 at^2
c.v^2=u^2 +2(a)*S

Using equations 1 and 3
v-final velocity
u-initial velocity
a-uniform acceleration
t-time taken for the motion
S- is the displacement
Now here,car is having inital speed i.e. u=35.9m/s
and as the car stops v=0
and time taken (t ) is 1.88 seconds
Substitute the above value in the above equation and u will get the acceleration-a

Now the third kinematic equation which give the relation between the final velocity initial velocity and acceleration and the distance travelled
here substitute the v then u and a to get the displacement covered by the car during skidding by equation 3
