Electrons always have a spin magnetic moment given by their spin quantum number #m_s = 1/2#.

Based on spin orientations, they can take values #+1/2# and #-1/2#.

The magnetic moment due to spin is an intrinsic property and electrons are endowed with it.

Therefore, even though there is no orbital magnetic moment, there is always a spin magnetic moment.
In atoms however, due to electron pairing in orbitals, the net spin moment may be zero for fully filled orbitals.
