Well, this is an observation for an experiment that you have done recently, and we have not.....

Explanation:

I would assume that stirring the slurry would tend to break up the chunks of marble, and release carbon dioxide gas.....

Anyway, if you haven't done the experiment yet, please closely observe what occurs, and record the results contemporaneously.
