because the base is just the same thing as the height plus 2, we can write it like this:

24= #((h)(h+2))/2#

multiply both sides by 2 to cancel the fraction

48=(h)(h+2)

multiply (h) by (h+2)

48=#h^2#+2h

put everything one one side and then solve the quadratic:
