For example, supposing two electrical appliances #X,Y# with electricity #P=200 W# when used at the voltage #V=100V#.

The current is calculated by #I(A)=(P(W))/(V(V))# and both #X,Y# can flow #(200(W))/(100(V))=2.00(A)# current when they are used at #100V#.
Their resistance is #R(Ω)=(100(V))/(2.00(A))=50.0(Ω)# .

Let's see what happens if #X# and #Y# were used in a #color(blue)"series circuit"# with #V=100(V)#.
The total resistance would be #R=50+50=100(Ω)# and the current would be #I=(100(V))/(100(Ω))=1.00 (A)#
