So part of the name is -heptane.
Starting with C1 at the left gives the lowest branch number. So we get:
4-ethyl-2,4-dimethylheptane
Note: in the name the branches are arranged alphabetically (di- tri- etc. are disregarded)

(b)
Longest chain is six, so -hexane
Starting from the left we have:
2,3,3-trimethylhexane
