The method I learned is to first, keep the whole number. Then find the least common multiple of the two denominators. In this case, it ended up being 6. So the golden rule is, what you do to the bottom, you have to do to the top. Since 3x 2 = 6, then 2 x2 would equal 4. The fraction would be #4/6# and just add the 5 to it to make #5 4/6#
