Explanation:

You have to get a on one side of the equation:

#ac=b^2# (you don't need multiplication signs with letters).

Divide both sides by #c#

#(ac)/c= (b^2)/c#

The #c# cancels on the left hand side.

#(acancel(c))/cancel(c)= (b^2)/c#

So we have:

#a= (b^2)/c#
