Find the volume of the prism, then subtract that amount from the volume of the sphere. The remaining amount will be the volume in between in whatever units.

#V_s = 4/3pir^3#

#V_p = lwh#

#V_s = 4/3pi(7)^3 = (1372pi)/3#

#V_p = (4)(6)(12) = 288#

Volume between sphere and inscribed prism is:

#V_s - V_p = (1372pi)/3 - 288 = (1372pi - 864)/3 approx 1148# cubic units
