Present objects exist in only in space.

Explanation:

Before the "big bang" neither time nor space existed. The present material objects of the universe can only exist in space. Without space neither time nor matter ( as is presently observable ) can exist.

What kind of object if any existed before the singularity that created the present universe is unknowable.

Before the 1900s scientists believed that the universe was eternal and that time and space had always existed. The evidence for an expanding universe led to the theory of the Big Bang singularity. It is now widely accepted that the present universe had a beginning where matter, energy, time and space came into existence. ( Note evidence is accumulating that the present universe will also have an ending where matter will cease to exist leaving only random energy)

Material objects as are presently observable can only exist in space.
Material realism the philosophy that matter and energy are all that can exist is called into question by the evidence that the universe had a beginning and will have an ending.
