look at the following :)

As there are brackets, we can first expend those brackets and group the like terms together.

#20x+15x+20(x-1)+15(x-1)-245#
#=20x+15x+20x-20+15x-15-245#
#=70x-280#

I'm not sure if you want to ask the following, but I just write it down in case you need this:

When the question is asking
#20x+15x+20(x-1)+15(x-1)-245=0#

we have the left side in the above, so:

#70x-280=0#
#70x=280#
#x=4#
