Bring the terms with variable #x# on left hand side of equation and keep other terms on right hand side, by using transposition method:

#-\frac { 1} { 2} x - x = 4 +10#

#-\frac { 1} { 2} x -x xx(2/2)= 14#

#\frac { -x-2x} { 2} = 14#

# -3x =14 xx 2#

# x = 28/-3 #

#therefore x = -9 1/3#
