Explanation:

The PostSynaptic side usually has more than one receptor for any given Neurotransmitter, although sometimes the amount present can be rather small.

The cosequence is that, if the concentration of the neurotransmitter is higher, more receptors will be triggered. This results in a stronger trigger signal.

Until recently it was thought that any synapse in any given neuron would only use one neurotransmitter.
This turns out to be not entirely true.....
