DNA replicates during the S (synthesis) phase of interphase.
Explanation:
Replication takes place before the cell divides. In order for DNA replication to occur, the double helix must separate.
Interphase is broken up into three stages.
G1 : "Gap One" or cell growth.
S : "Synthesis" or DNA replication
G2 : "Gap Two" or organelles duplicate.
This happens before mitosis, which is a common misconception.
