Vertical asymptotes occur where the function is undefined: So we are looking at the denominator being zero:

#x^2-8x=0#

#x(x-8)=0=>x=8 or x=0#

So vertical asymptote are the vertical lines:

#x=8# and #x=0# ( x = 0 is just the x axis )
