If you're asking about the graph of f(x) = x^2...
graph{x^2 [-10, 10, -5, 5]}

Explanation:

This is a parabola, since the leading variable is x^2.
graph{x^2 [-10, 10, -5, 5]}

If the leading variable was |x|, however, it would have been an absolute value graph, such as:
graph{|x| [-10, 10, -5, 5]}

Just a reminder: Absolute value graphs are V-shaped and parabolas are U-shaped! ( |x| versus x^2 )
