Soldering is a process of joining metals by using heat on a filler metal or alloy called "solder", which melts below #450^{\circ}#C (#842^{\circ} #F). The molten filler metal flows between the two (or more) adjacent surfaces because of capillary action.

The main difference of soldering from brazing is that in brazing, by definition, filler melts above #450^{\circ}#C.
