Inverse variation (2.7 hours)

Explanation:

The faster you go, the less time it will take to travel the same distance.

let s is speed
let d be distance
let t be time

Using the formula: #s = (d)/(t)#
thus: #s*t=d#

if I increase s, but keep d the same,

#(s+a)*(t+b)=d#
#=>st+at+bs+ab=d#
#=>at+bs+ab=0#

if a is positive, then in order d to stay the same, b must be negative

thus, as speed goes up, time goes down, so they vary inversely.
