Galvanising has a more durable coating than painting or oiling

Explanation:

Galvanising is when you coat a metal with a more reactive substance like zinc.

If you think about it, you can easily scratch off paint from a surface with your fingernails and wash off oil from a metal using dish soap.

However, you cannot scratch off or wash off zinc from the surface as easily.

This is because zinc is coated onto a metal by dipping the metal into molten zinc which soon solidifies. This will create a thick layer of zinc which will be harder to scratch off than paint.

Hope that makes sense!
