Explanation:

By definition, #pH=-log_10[H_3O^+]#...so we take antilogs if #pH=2#....#[H_3O^+]=10^(-2)=0.01*mol*L^-1#. Most of the things that we eat or drink that taste good, wine, cheese, lemon juice, vinegar, etc. are acidic.

On the other hand, the most basic thing that we eat is quite probably egg-white, #pH~=9-10#. The soapiness and bitterness of egg-white (but not egg yolk) are characteristic of a base.
