Divide both sides by m to get:

Substitute what they gave you into that formula now
v= #(2.40*10^3) /8#
v= #3*10^2#
v=300
(unless I did this totally wrong.. The mass of the cannon is totally unnecessary.. It's just there to throw you off!)

B. The problem said the momentum is east going east, so that means the velocity is going east!
