On reaction with nitrous acid, the ethanamine can be converted to alcohol and further on oxidation it gives ethanoic acid.

Explanation:

▶🔴Ethanamine reacted with nitrous acid HNO2 (prepared from HCl+NaNO2) which gives ethanol and on further oxidation of ethanol gives ethanoic acid.

i.e.

#"CH"_3"CH"_2"NH"_2➕HNO2#

———> #"CH"_3"CH"_2"OH"#

KMnO4/H+
—————> #"CH"_3"COOH"#

🔷 Alcohols on oxidation give acids.
🔷KMnO4/H is an oxidizing agent.
