#465/2=232.5#

Explanation:

What is 3/4 #color(red)(of)# $310. In math, the word #color(red)(of)# usually represents mupltiplycation of these two numbers:
#3/4xx310=930/4#

We can simplify that:
#=>3/(2xxcancel2)xx155xxcancel2=3/2xx5xx31# and that's it, can't be simplified any more

#=>(3xx155)/2=465/2=232.5#

Another way(needen't to use, too difficult)
if #3/4=0.75#
and #$310#...represents 100% or 1

then:
#310..........1#
#(x.............0.75)/#
#x/310=0.75/1#

#x=0.75xx310#

But it #0.75=3/4# then #x=3/4xx310# and that's what we used above in the first place.

#$232.50#

Explanation:

Note that #3/4# is the same as #3xx1/4#

So when we put all this together we have:

#color(blue)(3)color(red)(xx1/4xx$310)#

but #color(red)(1/4xx$310)# is the same as #$310# 'split up' into 4 equal sized counts and we have just 1 of them. In that we have just 1 of the #color(green)($77.50)# from #$77.50+$77.50+$77.50+$77.50 = $310#

so #color(white)("ddd")color(red)(1/4xx$310)color(green)(=$77.50)#

So #color(blue)(3)color(red)(xx1/4xx$310)# is the same as

#color(white)("dd.")color(blue)(3)color(green)(xx$77.50)=$232.50#
