1) Factor out what both have, in this instance they both have 'm' and both are a multiple of 10, so therefore you put this on the outside of the bracket:

2) Figure out what to put inside the bracket, (what does #10m# need to multiply by to give #10m^2# and #80m#). Figuring this out the result gets us:

#color(red)(10m(m+8))#

As:

#color(blue)(10m*m=10m^2)#
#color(blue)(10m*8=80m)#

Therefore it works and the finished factorisation is:

#color(red)(10m(m+8))#
