Explanation:
ALL electromagnetic radiation is detected by the resonance, or synchronized vibrations of receptors. If you don't have a receptor with the correct multiple (or fraction) of a particular energetic wavelength, you won't "detect" or recognize the wave.
Radio-telescopes are built as antennas sensitive to radio-frequencies. Any radio-frequencies moving through space that impinge on the earth can then be detected by those radio-telescopes.
