Because they both get conducted mostly by metals.
Metals are the best conductors of heat and electricity. That is why we use copper wires and other metallic wires. In saucepans, we don't use metal handles because you will burn your hands if you touch it because it conducts heat!!!
NEVER EVER MAKE A METALLIC SAUCEPAN HANDLE OR INSERT A METALl IN A CIRCUIT WHILE HOLDING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
