No.

Explanation:

Currently, there is nothing discovered or that exists which is faster than light and thanks for answering my this question...

Why are the particles that make up a metal described as positively charged ions?

Yes, but in Medium !! Partially Nope in Vacuum

Explanation:

Light is only the fastest, when there is vacuum, which is the least dense medium in the universe. As the density increases, the speed of light gets slower, at this point some particles are faster than Light.
But that's the case only in medium. In vacuum light is consider to be the fastest, because according to Einstein special theory of relativity which implies that only particles with zero rest mass may travel at the speed of light.
But yeah there's one thing the Space is keep expanding which can be consider as something faster than light.

Yes

Explanation:

Take a laser.

Point it into the night sky, say towards Jupiter, #5.439 "au"# away.

Without turning it off, point it at Saturn, #10.79 "au"# away.

The light will take about #45# minutes to reach Jupiter and #90# minutes to reach Saturn.

If an observer on Jupiter saw your laser #45# minutes after you pointed it at them and immediately sent a signal at light speed toward Saturn #7.813"au"# away, it would take about #65# minutes, arriving #20# minutes later than the light from your laser.

So the point of incidence of your laser beam has travelled faster than light.
