  1. When a driver hits the brakes, the tires use friction to stop the car from moving any further on the concrete. (Same goes for a bicycle)
  2. Athletes use shoes which have grip/friction to help prevent them from slipping and falling flat on their face.
  3. Friction/resistance allows birds to fly because if there was no air resistance, birds would not be able to fly.
