Carbon

Explanation:

Carbon and silicon are in the same group in the modern periodic table which is the 14^(th) group.

In carbon there are two shells as its electronic configuration is 2,4 or 1s^2 2s^2 2p^2 whereas in silicon there are three shells as its electronic configuration is 2,8,4 or 1s^2 2s^2 2p^6 3s^2 3p^2.

Thus, size of carbon is smaller than size of silicon.

Hope it helps😊
