Explanation:
Viroids are small, circular, single stranded molecules of infectious RNA lacking even a protein coat.
The free RNA present in these viroids are reported as the the main infectious agent.
They are the cause of a few plant diseases such as Potato spindle-tuber disease, cucumber pale fruit and cadang-cadang (in coconuts).
Viroids causes only one disease in humans ; which is Hepatitis D.
Virod which was first discovered was Potato Spindle tuber viroid ( in short PSTV ) which causes diseases in potatoes.
PSTV is a circular RNA molecule , causes diseases in potatoes .
