Like if the kid told his teacher the reason why he wasn't here the previous day, and he proceeded to explain all of the details. For example: "I went to the doctor yesterday." (Elaboration) "I got a shot, it really hurt. Then the doctor gave me a Band-Aid, and it was Mickey Mouse...) then he is elaborating what had happened. He is further explaining it.
