Syntax just refers to the arrangement of words in a sentence. When the word placement is unusual, we say that the sentence has interesting syntax.

Explanation:

"...so cool and fresh and sweet to smell (twain 4)."

Notice how in the sentence above the conventional grammar rules are not followed...as instead of saying, "so cool, fresh and sweet to smell" it has an interesting use of syntax as it diverges from conventional grammar usage
