What is the difference between real and virtual image?

Real image is one which can be obtained on screen,and virtual image is one that can't be obtained on the screen.

Actually,after reflection of refraction,when light rays converge to meet at a point,we get real image,but in diverging situation,we join the diverging reflected rays backwards to obtain virtual image.

Mirror and lens for its variable position gives real as well as virtual images.
