#y=180cm^3#

Explanation:

We had #1/3# of the glass, which is equivalent to #x# #cm^3# of water.

Now, we add #75cm^3# to #x#.

And with that, we have #3/4# of the glass full with #75+x# centimeter cubed of water.

We let #y# equal the volume of glass

We have:

#1/3y=x#

#3/4y=75+x# Subtract both equations.

#1/3y-3/4y=x-(75+x)#

#4/12y-9/12y=x-75-x#

#-5/12y=-75#

#-cancel5/cancel12y*cancel12/cancel5=-cancel5*15*12/cancel5#

#-y=-15*12#

#-y=-180#

#y=180cm^3#
