Where did the Ottomans come from?

There is not a lot of solid information on Osman I who established the Ottoman dynasty around 1300 CE. He was the hereditary leader of a small principality in Anatolia.

Explanation:

Osman's ancestors are said to have originally come from central Asia pushed out by the Mongols. Osman mostly fought the Byzantine Empire and his territory grew at Byzantine expense.

It took until 1453 that his descendant Mehmed II conquered Constantinople. The Ottoman Empire eventually covered the much of Turkey and the Middle East.
