Skeletal system support and protect different body parts, most importantly central nervous system by formin bony encasings like cranium and vertebral column.

Bones are storehouse of minerals like calcium and phosphorus.

Red bone marrow within bones is the site of haematopoiesis i.e. it supplies blood cells.

Epiphyseal cartilage helps in growth of limbs (in length).

Joints in skeletal system along with muscles help in moving our body parts.

Eyes, ears, nose: three important sensory organs are lodged and protected inside skeletal structures.
