eventually the whole biodiversity will collapse.

Explanation:

if there exist no plants for herbivores to survive on they will eventually starve to death, if they die there won't be food for carnivores but saprophytes can live a little longer feeding on the already dead creatures but at one point even saprophytes like fungi can not survive if there is no food to relay on. obviously, the omnivores can also not survive if there isn't plants or animals for them to survive on. thus, resulting in the collapse of the whole interconnected biosphere.
