How do I solve this problem I know the answer I just don’t know how to show my work for this problem but I don’t know if my answer is right either. For every 1/5 cup of sugar,1/3 cup of flour is needed. How much sugar is needed if you use 1 cup of flour?

#3/5# cups of sugar

Explanation:

Start by figuring out what to multiply #1/3# by in order to get #1#.
#1=1/3x -> 3/3=1/3x#
#(3/3)/(1/3)# is the same as #(3/3)*(3/1)=9/3=3#
So, #x=3#
Now, apply this #x# to #1/5# cups of sugar to determine how much sugar you need for it to match that of flour.
#y# (amount of sugar needed)
#y=1/5x#, where #x=3#
#1/5*3/1=3/5#
