The way that I think of it is, is that the power is `-4`. Therefore, you need one fewer zeros than that power before your actual number... sorry this isn't making any sense! I'll give examples:

`4*10^-3 ->` the power is a `3`, so you need `2` zeros before your number `= 0.004`

`1.7*10^-5 ->` the power is a `5`, so you need `4` zeros before your number `= 0.000017`

`8.16*10^-11 ->` the power is an `11`, so you need `10` zeros before your number `= 0.0000000000816`
