Explanation:

Median is the middle in order, so first we order (as you did above).

#2,2,5,6#
Then we cancel out the outermost:
#cancel{2}, 2, 5, cancel{6} #
And now we're left with only 2 things. Since we can't just cross them both out, mathematicians decided that the most fair thing is to just take the mean of the final two values to become the median, so,
#(2+5)/2 = 7/2 = 3.5 #
So that is our final answer.
