One piece of paper was made into a ball.

Explanation:

Right now this sentence is in active voice, and it is going to be changed to passive. But what's the difference?

  • Active means that the subject is doing the action
  • Passive means that the action is being done to the subject

Right now, the subject is understood as "You", but not mentioned:

(You) make one piece of paper into a ball.

So the subject "you" is doing the action of "make" TO the piece of paper. Now we're going to change the sentence so that the piece of paper is receiving the "making" FROM you.

One piece of paper was made into a ball (by you).

As a remind that "you" was doing the action, I put the phrase "by you" in parentheses, but it is not in the actual sentence.

Now the paper is receiving the action, so the sentence is passive.

One piece of paper was made into a ball.
