Explanation:

WWII meant that Europe was left in ruins and the threat of communism forced Western Europe to rely on the USA for the defense. The 1947 Marshall Plan introduced the US as a financial power able to rebuild Europe.

The 1944 Bretton Woods agreement granted to the US dollar the status of world currency. It meant every country had to use US dollars to index its own currency. NATO was created in 1949, it was aimed at opposing communism and the Eastern Bloc as part of the Cold War.

Hollywood and American corporations spread American culture throughout the world and first and foremost in Europe.
