The correct IUPAC name is 5,6-dimethylheptan-2-one.
Explanation:
The "old" IUPAC rules accepted 5,6-dimethyl-2-heptanone as the name.
The "new" IUPAC rules require the locant (the locating number) to be as close as possible to the name of the functional group.
