You can write ratios as fractions:

#4x : 3 = 6 : 5# can be written as:

#(4x)/3 = 6/5" "larr# multiply both sides by #3#

#4x = (3xx6)/5#

Divide both sides by #4#

#x = 18/(4xx5) = 18/20#

#x = 9/10" "larr# in simplest form

You could also cross multiply to get:
