Which function is exponential? y=5x^0.2 y=4(0.1)^x y=0.2x^3

I'm having troubles understanding exponentials, and I'm getting stumped a lot. How would you find which one is exponential? Thank you!

#y = 4(0.1)^x#

Explanation:

exponential functions are those where a number is raised to the power of a variable.

examples include #2^x#, and #3^(2x)#.

#y = 5x^(0.2)# and #y = 0.2x^3# have powers to fixed numbers.

meanwhile, #y = 4(0.1)^x# has a variable power, which changes as #x# does.

this means that #y = 4(0.1)^x# is the exponential function.
