I don’t understand how do you find the area of the projection on the xy -plane of the parallelogram determined by the points P(0,0,3) ,Q(2,-1,2),R(3,2,1),and S(1,3,2)?.

This type of parallelogram is hard to visualize because it is 3-dimensional. 
From here, the area of the parallelogram can be determined.
Area of a parallelogram = base * height.
