$x$ $x$ is the total route in kilometers
(3600m = 3.6km)

we know that
$x = 3.6 + (\frac{1}{4}) x + (\frac{3}{5}) x$ $x= 3.6 + (1/4)x + (3/5)x$

multiplying both sides with 20, gives

$20 x = 72 + 5 x + 12 x$ $20x = 72 + 5x+12 x$

or (moving all terms with $x$ $x$ to the same side)

$3 x = 72$ $3x = 72$
