On the other hand, in the reaction described, WE MIGHT get SOME precipitate of calcium carbonate, which is none too soluble,..

#CaCl_2(aq) + Na_2CO_3(aq) rarr underbrace(CaCO_3(s))_"white precipitate"darr + 2NaCl(aq)#

But did you not observe this reaction?
