Explanation:

Large insoluble proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates found in food must first be broken down into smaller, soluble molecules such as amino acids and fatty acids. This will allow for maximum absorption in the small intestine for absorption and assimilation.

These large molecules are broken down by biological catalysts called enzymes. Each enzyme corresponds to breaking down each food group. Protease only breaks proteins, while lipase can only break fats.
