What are some hypothetical or real life examples of existentialism?
1 Answer
Hypothetical nothing exist outside of my experience
Real Life I can really only know and understand what I have experienced.
Explanation:
Existentialism is the philosophy that experience is reality. In its extreme forms people can hypothetically believe that nothing really exists outside of themselves. A person living within this belief system would think that everyone else was an illusion of their own mind. h.
More practically existentialism as a world view would focus on experience as the measure of reality. This would be seen in the idea that truth varies with the individual. Each person would seek to find their own "truth" through experience. Often expressed by phrases like I am trying to find myself, or I am glad you found your truth I am still seeking my truth.
